The FaxFacts Server is a full-featured, easy-to-use
fax server system that runs on a dedicated workstation under Windows NT and
integrates with all major networks. FaxFacts is an open system that is
completely expandable and designed for customization. The base system includes
all of the fax utilities most offices need, including broadcast faxing,
on-the-fly faxing, status reports, and cover sheet attachments. Add-on modules
that further optimize performance can be purchased separately.
FaxFacts Server operates in a client/server environment,
consolidating maintenance and control at one or more "server" CPUs.
An unlimited number of licensed "client" workstations can access
server capabilities from the network. Incoming faxes can be directed to fax
mailboxes, local printers, or e-mail. Users can fax directly from their
workstation. On the server side, FaxFacts Server software operates from
Windows NT, or Windows 2000. On client workstations FaxFacts interfaces with
Windows (3.1 or 95), Windows NT or Windows 2000.
What makes FaxFacts Server Unique?
Capability
State-of-the-art hardware creates faxing capabilities beyond the needs of most
businesses. That gives you room to grow and with FaxFacts Server system
growth is nearly unlimited. While the network/host server limits our
competitors, FaxFacts Server can expand by banding together (load
sharing) server workstations. Using 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, or 24 line fax boards, you
can drive 2 to 96 lines per CPU. This type of capacity can easily drive a total
digital system utilizing T1s or E1s.
API Flexibility
Customizing FaxFacts Server is easy because of the Application
Programmer Interface. FaxFacts Server was designed to meet your current
and future faxing needs. The API opens the door to integration with mainframes,
UNIX, DOS, OS/2, Macintosh, and the Internet.
Net Friendly
FaxFacts Server is not an NLM and supports most networks, including
Novell, LANtastic, TokenRing, Banyan Vines, and many others. It links TCP/IP
workstations to any network or installs directly on the Windows NT or Windows
2000 server.
User Friendly
Operating from a Windows interface, FaxFacts Server uses intuitive icons
and dialog boxes that guide you easily through tasks. On-line help is also
available at each screen.

Workstation Software
With FaxFacts Server, client workstations become individual information
centers. Outbound faxing to one or more recipients is done in seconds from any
application. With the mail merge to fax option you can personalize variables in
a mail merge and broadcast it to hundreds of clients. When paired with DID
(Direct Inward Dial), FaxFacts Server can be configured to route inbound
faxes to specific fax mailboxes instead of one main mailbox.
FaxFacts Broadcast
The high volume, high performance broadcast capabilities of FaxFacts Broadcast
are ideal for telemarketing, customer service, product updates, and press
releases. When you need to distribute information quickly and to a large number
of people, FaxFacts Broadcast provides the solution.
FaxMail / DID Option
The FaxMail component of FaxFacts Server creates a general mailbox where
all incoming faxes are deposited. From the mailbox, faxes are manually routed
to any number of individual mailboxes. The FaxMail with Direct Inward Dial
(DID) add-on option creates personalized mailboxes that receive and store
individual faxes. The stored faxes are available anytime, anywhere, and can be
secured with a unique password. Users can have faxes delivered to e-mail, a
specific printer, a remote fax machine, or another fax mailbox. The DID option
also requires special hardware and phone lines.
Fax From Windows
With a few clicks of the mouse, this easy-to-use utility provides outbound
faxing from individual workstations. Users on the network can fax documents
from any Windows application, add attachments, and attach a cover sheet. Record
commonly used fax numbers in the phone book to avoid retyping.
FaxFacts Viewer
The Viewer is used to view, edit, and forward incoming faxes. FaxFacts Viewer
is the "sorting" tool for faxes stored in the central mailbox. It's
also a design tool for Graphical Cover Sheets.
Graphical Cover Sheet
Replace ASCII restricted cover sheets with easy-to-create Graphical Cover
Sheets. This application gives all of your faxes that professional edge with
font and graphic enhancements. The dynamic nature of these graphical elements
can also produce single page direct mail pieces for broadcast.
Mail Merge to Fax Option
This patented technology is exclusive
to Copia's FaxFacts. It's an add-on module that gives a personal touch to large
broadcast faxes by creating variable fields for names, addresses, and other
information in a document. Specify a data file to define the variables and Mail
Merge to Fax will plug them into individual letters and broadcast the results.
Mail Merge to Fax operates with any Windows word processor, contact manager, or
database package that can perform mail merge operations.
Technicalities
FaxFacts Server operates by creating simple "Fax Send"
(.FS) files in the TOSEND directory monitored by FaxFacts Server. The FS
files are initially placed in a TOSEND directory on the network file server.
You may add up to nine additional TOSEND directories, which are considered in
decreasing order of priority. These additional directories may also each be
assigned blackout periods so that, for example, their contents are only
processed at night or on weekends. FaxFacts Server is designed so that
multiple copies of FaxFacts Server running on different CPUs can process
the same TOSEND directories. After each FS file has been processed, it is moved
either to a SENT or FAIL directory (after the specified number of retries). The
FaxFacts Status utility displays each fax processed and defines reasons for
failed faxes. Here you can edit fax numbers or names and resubmit failed faxes.
All FaxFacts Server actions are logged to a daily report file in dBase
format. An add-on FFREPORT utility contains 24
different reports you can run to analyze usage.
Hardware Requirements
A stand-alone workstation running FaxFacts Server requires a Windows
NT or Windows 2000 operating system. As part of a network, FaxFacts
Server resides on a dedicated CPU running Windows NT or Windows 2000.
Client workstations on the network can access FaxFacts Server files with
Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows 2000. FaxFacts Server
supports Brooktrout, Commetrex, Dialogic, and GammaFax boards. For more
