Copia's FaxFacts Graphical Cover Sheet program can
generate custom cover sheets for fax-on-demand, fax broadcast, and other fax
server applications. You can design cover sheets for outgoing faxes using any
Windows word processing or graphics software package. Some elements will remain
the same on all co ver sheets, like your company name, but now you can also
personalize cover sheets to certain clients or groups by specifying variable
fields. These variables can be defined as text or graphics. Whether you want to
send a single fax or a broadcast of 40 faxes, FaxFacts' Graphical Cover
Sheet program can quickly build a customized cover sheet for each document.
Easy to create, WYSIWYG graphical cover sheets give all of your faxes that
professional edge. Instead of the usual TO/FROM format, you can create cover
sheets that stand out with graphics, logos, and art. Client-specific graphics,
such as a signature, can be copied or scanned and defined as a graphical
variable to further personalize a cover sheet. Graphical Cover Sheet
saves time by automatically plugging in these variables.
The FaxFacts Viewer program specifies the variable elements of each cover
sheet. The variable information is saved in a special template file that then
can be used in place of the regular ASCII cover sheets that were available in
previous versions of FaxFacts. Variable data are inserted by
"annotating" the background fax using variable references. For
example, if you want to show on the cover sheet the total number of pages in
the fax, you can use one of the many available FaxFacts variables in your
annotation, which will be expanded when the cover sheet is generated.
Annotations can be formatted over multiple lines and can use any Windows font.
When you define a graphical cover sheet, FaxFacts writes the FS (fax to
send) file into a special directory that is monitored at regular intervals by
the Graphical Cover Sheet program. Graphical Cover Sheet creates
cover sheets on the fly, specifying variables and applying the annotations to
the fax file. The fax file is then written to a temporary file and added to the
transmission list for FaxFacts to send the fax documents. Running on a Pentium
class machine, Graphical Cover Sheet can process the cover sheets for a
typical broadcast in less than two seconds per page. Even on a slower machine,
cover sheets are generated at a speed that will easily keep up with fax
transmissions on multiple outbound lines.
