FaxFacts International Fax Callback vastly improves international fax communications by making them as economical and practical as domestic faxes. By utilizing high speed data links already in place, or the Internet, through service bureaus, this application receives local faxes, packages them for transmission overseas, delivers them to a local hub in preparation for delivery to the final destination, and returns a confirmation to the sender.

The Pieces

• Fax Machine and Access to Service Bureau The transaction begins as any other fax, but you send it to your service bureau (a local call).
• Customer number The system will ask for your customer account number
• PIN number To secure your account, you are assigned a PIN number
• Destination fax number The fax number of the final destination of the fax
• Confirmation Requested? The voice system will ask if you want a fax returned confirming that the transmission completed

How it Works
International Fax Callback uses Copia's FaxMail software to process the fax. When the originating hub (service bureau) receives a fax from a customer, the fax file is converted to a binary format and compressed for transmission via FTP. The Fax Mail software creates two packets. One packet "holds" the fax and one "holds" the delivery instructions. The packets are transmitted over the Internet or a high-speed data link. To control the cost of the transaction, the "least cost routing" feature points the file to the correct country and most economical destination hub. When the destination hub receives the file, FaxMail unpacks the packet and creates a (.ZIQ) file for delivery to the recipient and a confirmation fax for the originating hub. International Fax Callback can also launch a Fax Broadcast from anywhere in the world to your US-stored database.

This application is designed for large international companies with preexisting data links, and international service bureaus. It's a more reliable and less expensive method of transmitting faxes from an international location to the US. Foreign phone companies can be costly and are not always modern, discouraging fax transmissions. International Fax Callback restores efficiency and economy to these important transactions.
