Mr. Peabody, What is fax blasting and does it hurt the fax? Fax blasting is the fine art of sending any number of faxes reliably and quickly from any workstation on your network. Ideally, this process should be simple and painless to both the fax and the sender. It is with Copia's FaxFacts fax server.

Aren't all fax servers about the same when it comes to fax blasting? Many fax servers claim to be excellent fax blasters, but only one fax server, FaxFacts, was good enough to be called a "fantastic fax blaster" by the people at Computer Telephony Magazine.

How did FaxFacts earn the title of "fantastic fax blaster"? FaxFacts was the only fax server to meet the demanding criteria of the experts at Computer Telephony.

What were those criteria? The people at Computer Telephony needed a system that would deliver personalized faxes to 10,000 customers in two days. The system had to have the following capabilities: .

  • personalized faxing with mail merge - FaxFacts offers the ability to completely customize any fax broadcast using their patented mail merge to fax technology. The graphical cover sheet option offers additional customization features like watermarks, company logos, graphics, and annotations. .
  • fast faxing - FaxFacts begins sending faxes as soon as the first one in the list is ready and continues rasterizing custom mail merge pages in the background at a rate of 30 - 60 pages per minute. .
  • multiple phone lines - FaxFacts supports an unlimited number of lines per machine and an unlimited number of machines. Machine capacity is a factor of the type of fax boards and the number of slots available. .
  • reliability - FaxFacts does not hang or crash, works across an unlimited number of servers, and can be safely interrupted at any point and restarted at the point of interruption. .
  • intelligent call handling - FaxFacts uses the call progress features of the high-end fax boards it supports, such as Gammalink and Brooktrout, to monitor calls. It can detect voice answers, busies, no answer, and phone numbers in use on another server line. It can be set to intelligently reschedule or fail calls based upon flexible and powerful user-defined parameters. .
  • call scheduling - FaxFacts gives the user complete control over when a fax is sent so the sender can take advantage of lower phone rates. .
  • smart exception handling - FaxFacts logs all failed calls with an intelligent explanation for the failure so the sender can quickly determine the problem and correct it. A fax status program is provided to allow users to monitor fax status and resubmit faxes when necessary. .
  • call volume - FaxFacts can handle tens of thousands of names from broadcast lists in a wide variety of formats, including popular databases and comma-delimited ASCII text files. .
  • network compatibility - FaxFacts client utilities give every user on the network the ability to easily send completely custom faxes and to monitor the results. .
  • multiple server support - FaxFacts can run across an unlimited number of servers, providing load balancing and hardware redundancy for critical operations. .
  • print-like faxing - FaxFacts provided print to fax drivers for on-the-fly, broadcast, and mail merge faxing. These drivers create high-quality fax images from the print output of any Windows application. .
  • easy management software - Anyone on the network can blast faxes, design cover sheets, monitor fax transmission status, and resend failed faxes after correcting the problem using the simple Windows utility programs provided with FaxFacts.

We don't normally send that many faxes. Do we need a fax blaster? Every fax that goes out is important. That's why The Computer Telephony wanted a fax blaster that produced high quality, individualized faxes for each customer in their mailing list. FaxFacts gives you the Whether you're sending one fax or thousands, FaxFacts provides the same high quality performance and customization features that are sure to impress your customers. And FaxFacts is fully scaleable so that the system can grow with you.

What do I need to set up my own fax blaster system? You need FaxFacts broadcast software, the FaxFacts Fax from Windows utility (includes print driver), and a fax board such as the Brooktrout TRUFAX 200. You can add the optional mail merge to fax software for greater customization of faxes sent using mail merge. You could also add the Graphical Cover Sheet option that allows you to design custom graphical cover sheets using watermarks, company logos, and graphics files. You can also add annotations to your cover sheets using any fonts and page orientation you'd like.

I still have more questions... where should I look? There is a great exerpt written by Copia President Steve Hersee concerning fax blasting and fax broadcasting. You can find it here. If you still have questions than a sales associate will be glad to answer any questions at 800-689-8898.
