Version 8 Features
CopiaFacts version 8 has many new features designed to make it more flexible and easier to use. At the same time the basic operations and functions have not changed, so as to minimize the task of upgrading.

Unicode
CopiaFacts now has full unicode support for working with international character sets, including graphical cover sheets for fax personalization, e-mail sending and incoming e-mail.
COPIAFACTS Server Engine
The most visible enhancements include an enhanced, color-coded, resizeable interface showing more lines and more detail. Among the other important functional enhancements are:
- Up to 16 TOSENDx folders are available (up from 10)
- Six more outcome class letters (up from A..H) to setup different retry strategies
- Built-in VoIP ports supporting boardless IVR applications
- Timed delivery based automatically on the destination area or country code
- Support for serial-port fax modems and fax modem boards
- Grouped variables allow alternate parameters to be set for fax and e-mail retries
- Generation and display of bar-charts showing transmission performance by line and by queue
- Archiving of complete sent faxes, including graphical cover sheet contents
- UTC time support eliminates schedule problems at daylight savings changeover
- Destination-specfic actions allow special processing for listed numbers and e-mail addresses
- PDF files can be printed from infobox logic in addition to TIF files
- E-Mail attachments can be cached to reduce network load
- Passwords can be encrypted in script (infobox) files
Job Administration
A new main JOBADMIN program combines an overview of all running jobs with an enhanced set of administration functions. Among the detailed changes are:
- More property pages for ease of setting up broadcast jobs, together with a built-in editor for property files
- Full context-sensitive help for all job properties
- A new summary page for each job shows job history and a bar-chart of job completion
- Interlocks prevent multiple users from editing the same job
- Owner filters allow quick finding of a specific owner's jobs
- Column filtering and sorting in the overview list and the job item list
- Job lists can have multiple targets (To, CC, BCC)
License Manager
A new license manager simplifies the configuration process, and allows new maintenance keys to be installed with a single click.
FFMERGE
Significant enhancements make FFMERGE easier to use and more powerful:
- Simpler installation and easier troubleshooting
- Multiple merge tasks can be run concurrently and selected on the action line
- Task settings can be prepared in advance and do not need to be set up for each merge
- Simplified operation on Vista and Windows 7
Help Files and Reference Manual
Major improvements have been made to the index and navigation, and the frequently-referenced appendix D (system variables) has been expanded. A feedback button has been added on each page and we welcome feedback on the documentation.
Miscellaneous Enhancements
Many other CopiaFacts programs have been enhanced:
- FFVIEWER annotation syntax has been expanded to allow more complex HTML content
- The FFVIEWER right-click menu can now insert common variables into annotation text
- Document Converter supports Office 2010 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Document Converter has a built-in PDF renderer which can replace Adobe Reader and Ghostscript
- Text and HTML files used in fax, e-mail and SMS can include conditions (if, else, else if, end if)
- Broadcast lists can now be in XLSX format
- File finding uses higher-performance API functions in Windows 7 and Server 2008R2
- JOBXFAIL (new program) extracts failed items from a completed job for use in a do-not-send list
- Broadcast items can be launched with reversed FS numbers to randomize pickup in multiple concurrent jobs
- A new CALLMON program shows many more performance statistics
- TRCVIEW has been greatly enhanced to simplify the analysis of trace files
