Since 1989 Copia International has been one of the leaders and innovators in
the fax server and fax-on-demand software market. Copia holds the patents for
its one-call fax retrieval and mail merge to fax facility. Thousands of
customers worldwide use Copia's FaxFacts software everyday to send and receive
information by fax, to automatically answer and direct calls, and to provide
custom IVR systems to interact with callers.
Copia was founded in March of 1987 by Steve Hersee. Steve leveraged his
experience as a founder of Lattice, Inc. to establish a presence in the
programmer tools market. Copia's first product was a library of database access
functions for C programmers. The AccSys libraries grew to incorporate support
for a number of PC databases, operating systems, and languages. Microsoft and
Lotus both selected AccSys to provide external database access for their
products.
In June of 1999 Copia announced the formation of Copia UK Limited, Copia's
European partner. Copia UK's key personel come from Roundhill Computer Systems
of Wiltshire, England, which also has a long history in the programmer tools
market. Roundhill's Panel Plus windowing package is considered one of the
premiere development tools for Unix and PC cross platform applications. Still,
Copia and Roundhill have formed a close association to jointly market, develop,
and support their products.
Today Copia has shifted its focus to end user fax solutions. It has formed
strategic alliances with large service bureaus like Faxts Now and Boomerang to
deliver fax-on-demand, fax broadcast, and e-mail/web/fax solutions to their
customers. Copia also has a large network of resellers in the United States,
Europe, and Asia that provide additional software, training, and installation
for Copia's FaxFacts fax server.
FaxFacts was featured in a three-part series in Computer Telephony Magazine.
The magazine articles focused on the high-volume, fax mail merge features of
FaxFacts, a.k.a., "fax blasting". FaxFacts received high praise for
its ability to churn out a mountain of personalized faxes in short order. The
publisher of the magazine, Harry Newton, also commented that FaxFacts was
"too cheap" in view of its capabilities.
Copia is committed to delivering the most comprehensive, most capable fax
solutions on the market at affordable prices.
