CopiaFacts adds SMTP E-Mail to Fax Gateway and Exchange Connector!
Naperville, IL -- (September 13, 2004) – Copia International
announces the addition of two exciting new e-mail-to-fax messaging
products to its CopiaFacts software suite, the CopiaFacts SMTP
Gateway and the CopiaFacts Exchange Fax Connector. Both products
enable you to send faxes directly from your e-mail client software
such as Eudora Pro, Netscape Mail, Outlook Express or Outlook and
eliminate the need to install fax client software on each desktop
PC.
The CopiaFacts SMTP Gateway operates as an inbound e-mail server
enabling you to send e-mails to a fax number. Outbound faxing is
as easy as sending an e-mail and supported mail formats include
plain text, RTF, or HTML including any attachments supported by
Enterprise Extensions’. The CopiaFacts SMTP Gateway provides
security options for authenticating domains and mail servers, keeping
your fax gateway secure. SMTP Gateway users receive notifications
for successful or failed fax transmissions through a return e-mail
notification.
“Many of our service bureau customers have been using custom
SMTP e-mail-to-fax solutions for years,” according to Steve
Hersee, President of Copia. “Copia decided to release a version
that can be used by companies of all sizes and let them utilize
their existing e-mail infrastructure for faxing. This also allows
our Lotus Notes, GroupWise and web hosted CRM clients to send faxes
directly from their e-mail applications”
For Microsoft Exchange users, Copia has modified its existing
Microsoft Exchange solution to include a fax connector that hands
off fax messages to the SMTP gateway. This not only simplifies
the connector, but also provides a consistent means of processing
fax requests from in-house and remote users.
“The concept of using the Exchange fax connector to feed
the SMTP gateway gives us a standard way to handle all fax messages
routed over email. It also simplifies the connector by having all
of the message processing done in the gateway. This reduces connector
complexity and hopefully makes the connector more resilient to
change as new versions of Exchange Server are released. It also
provides consistent fax results for users, whether they are on
the road or in the office. Our customers are moving toward a unified
inbox with Exchange and the addition of full faxing capabilities,
both inbound and outbound, was a necessity. Based upon user input,
we also designed the connector to allow for installation without
the need to modify the Active Directory schema.”
Both products are included in the CopiaFacts Enterprise Extensions
package and available direct from Copia or through Copia Value
Added Resellers (VARs). Please contact Copia sales for more information
and pricing.
