Fax Broadcast Automation Package
Enables fax service bureaus and other in-house fax broadcasters
to simplify and automate the process of launching and managing large
fax broadcasts
Birmingham, England, 22nd June 1998 -- Copia
International, Limited, of Naperville Illinois, announces Broadcast
Automation Package announced a powerful new fax automation package
at Computer Telephony 1998. The package builds on Copia's award-winning
FaxFacts fax server technology and enables fax service bureau and
other in-house fax broadcasters to simplify and automate the process
of launching and managing large fax broadcasts.
Steve Hersee, Copia President, said, "One of FaxFacts' great
strengths is our ability to generate and reliably transmit huge
fax broadcasts, with full personalization of each fax. The new job
management package allows Copia's service-bureau customers to bring
this power simply and efficiently to each of their clients."
Because FaxFacts already includes optional voice integration with
fax operations, the new add-on package can make use of these features
to allow service-bureau clients to launch and manage broadcasts
remotely, fully under their own control. It permits master documents
to be faxed in, broadcast lists to be selected, and proof copies
to be generated as required before the full broadcast is launched.
In addition a broadcast job can be suspended or resumed, and have
its priority changed. Reports on the progress of the job are available
in spoken form when the client calls in to the system. Job status
and failure reports can be specified to be faxed or e-mailed to
the client, either on completion of the job, on request, or at specified
points in the broadcast. The service bureau operator can do all
this without any manual intervention. Alternatively the package
includes facilities which allow local control of any of the properties
of the broadcast, for when in- house broadcasts are generated locally
in a corporate environment.
When the broadcast is being transmitted, all of FaxFacts advanced
features are available, including full personalization of the document
being faxed, incorporating the recipient's name and other variable
text (or signature graphics) in any Windows font or style. The FaxFacts
'smart retry' feature also allows customization of an arbitrary
pattern of retries for each possible type of transmission failure,
with or without re-sending the already sent pages of a long document.
Reports produced by the new job management package include the
destination number and/or recipient name, the time taken for each
transmission attempt, and whether the attempt was successful or
why it failed. When 'advice of charge' is available from the (ISDN)
telephone service, FaxFacts also records the actual charge for the
call, making it simple to produce accurate invoices for a service-bureau
client.
FaxFacts supports industry-standard fax and voice boards from Brooktrout,
Dialogic and Gammalink, and is designed to scale smoothly over a
range of system sizes from two telephone lines up to several hundred
lines. The FaxFacts software and the new job administration package
run under Windows NT.
