The following installation steps are needed:
| • | Launch the autorun program on the FaxFacts CD (CDAUTO.EXE) |
| • | Select Hardware Install and then Netaccess to install ECC 1.75 to e.g. C:\BFAX. Do not reboot at the end of the SETUP. |
| • | Change directory to C:\BFAX\SERVER |
| • | Set up C:\BFAX\SERVER\BCHANMAP.CFG as in the examples below for 2E1, 1E1-16, or 1E1-30. Note that there are also some sample channel map files in the C:\BFAX\SERVER folder you may be able to use. |
| • | Copy SERVER43\BTNASRV.EXE to BTNASRV.EXE |
| • | If you are using Windows 2000, copy NAIDRV_175.SYS from the BTNA folder on the CD to C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\NAIDRV.SYS, overwriting the file of that name that is there already. |
| • | Edit BTNA.CFG with Notepad to add the following line as the line immediately following the comments at the top of the file, before the [board...] sections. (Adjust the path if not using C:\BFAX) |
bchanmap C:\BFAX\SERVER\BCHANMAP.CFG
| • | In BTNA.CFG you may need to edit the switch type and variant type - if so use the table later in this document. |
| • | Run BTNASRV -install and either accept the default paths or edit as needed. Initially, enable the debug log file. |
| • | Run NET START BTNASERVICE. Check in the Netaccess IRP Control Panel Applet that the service is running and correctly configured (on the information page). |
| • | Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Services |
| • | Select BTNASERVICE and change its startup to Auto |
| • | Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Devices |
| • | Select Netaccess IRP Driver and change its startup to Auto |
| • | At this stage you should reboot and check that no errors are reported in the Windows Event Log. |
| • | Go back to the Autorun program on the FaxFacts CD (CDAUTO.EXE) |
| • | Select Hardware Install and then Brooktrout. |
| • | The BTCONF program is run from the installer and should select default address settings |
| • | Change to the FaxFacts directory and move DIGITAL.E1 to DIGITAL.CFG |
| • | Ensure that the path to this DIGITAL.CFG file is correctly referenced in the BTCALL.CFG file which should have been placed in the FaxFacts home directory |
| • | Install the new release of CopiaFacts, and use the supplied F7BN.DLL without renaming any of the alternate DLL files for the Brooktrout interface, described in the release notes. |
