Configuration

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Configuration of machines, boards, lines, email threads and line options is done with the FFHWL program. You may receive a pre-configured diskette containing the correct settings for a specific board and application, or you may need to configure your system "from scratch". First read, and if necessary print, the HELP | USER GUIDE text from the FFHWL program. The basic sequence of operation is:

first configure each node running CopiaFacts server software by checking the board(s) to be installed in the node
next configure the first line in the node: select in order the node in which it resides, the board channel(s) it will use, and the line operations and options needed for the line.
repeat for similarly configured lines in the same node by clicking the 'ditto' button. This will increment the channel numbers automatically and copy the line settings to the next line.
repeat the initial setup for the first line in the next node, if any.

You can check the settings and get an overview of the configuration by switching to the summary page at any time. Help is available for all entry fields by clicking the help button on the title bar and then using it to select the field.
