Locate the CopiaFacts Application Folder for this installation
COPIALOCATE
This program normally needs to be run once to prepare an existing common-drive-letter CopiaFacts installation for the configuration method introduced with program versions 7.200+. Please read the documentation on Upgrading from Release 7.1 and ealier before running COPIALOCATE.
COPIALOCATE uses a 'wizard' interface and performs the following functions:
| • | Allows selection of the folder which is to be the COPIA share. Most CopiaFacts installations will already have a COPIA share. |
| • | Creates the COPIA share if necessary, and if the account permissions allow this; otherwise the share must be created using normal Windows facilities. |
| • | Installs COPIACONNECT.EXE and CFREG.DLL in the root of the COPIA share, and creates the NETBIN folder if necessary. The FAXFACTS folder will also normally be in this share already. |
| • | Writes or updates FFCFG.INI in the FAXFACTS folder (the Copia Application Data folder) to contain the following entry: |
[FFCONFIG]
ExpectedUNCpath=\\servername\COPIA
| • | Creates HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry entries in \Software\Copia\Installers which describe your configuration for use by CopiaFacts installer programs. For this reason COPIALOCATE should be run before running a 7.2xx or later Copia installer on a pre-7.2xx CopiaFacts or FaxFacts installation. |
The FFCFG.INI entry allows CopiaFacts programs to check that all machines are using the same UNC pathname to access the Copia Application Data folder. This is essential for correct operation. The COPIALOCATE 'wizard' is similar to that which is invoked for the first step of a new CD install (CDAUTO, version 7.200+). If you have a current CopiaFacts CD with CDAUTO in its root folder, you can use this instead of COPIALOCATE.
If you have an alternate CopiaFacts Application Data folder, perhaps on a different machine as a 'hot backup' or occasional backup, the COPIALOCATE program should be run (once) to set the correct UNC pathname in this backup application folder. The machine you are working on will be set to access whichever was the last location set, as if you had used COPIACONNECT for this folder.
Once COPIALOCATE has installed COPIACONNECT in the COPIA share's root folder, you can visit each fax server machine which needs to access the Copia Application Data folder and simply navigate to COPIACONNECT.EXE and execute it. This will configure all Copia 7.200+ programs on that machine to allow access to the Copia Application Data.
