Editor for CopiaFacts UTF-8 command files

CopiaUniEdit [filename]

COPIAUNIEDIT is a simple text editor designed for use with Copia UTF-8 command files.  It lacks the syntax-highlighting and integrated help of COPIAEDIT, but is currently the only CopiaFacts application which can display and edit Unicode files.

COPIAUNIEDIT will always save files with UTF-8 encoding. Options on the save menu allow saving with or without a byte-order mark (BOM).  Command files saved with a BOM can only be processed in CopiaFacts builds later than 10/10/2008.  Command files save with a BOM are easier to process in other applications.

The program loads a file named on the command line as if it is either UTF-8 or plain ASCII, unless it has a Unicode byte-order mark, in which case it is loaded as specified.

Menu options allow opening a file:

as a Unicode file, if it has a byte-order mark, or as if it is UTF-8 or plain ASCII if not.
as a Unicode file, if it has a byte-order mark, or in the system default encoding if not. The latter might be useful if you have files containing accented Western characters, or using a non-ASCII, non-Unicode code page such as Greek or Cyrillic.
as a Unicode file, if it has a byte-order mark, or in Shift-JIS encoding (SJIS) if not.

You can of course use the program to edit text files other than CopiaFacts command files and save them in UTF-8 encoding.
