FFMERGE Outputs

FFMERGE creates a fax-format image file and normally also an FS (fax send) control file which causes the CopiaFacts fax server to schedule the fax transmission.  For e-mail transmissions, the image file can either be sent as a TIF attachment or after conversion to PDF.

FFMERGE produces faxable TIFF/F format files for the boards supported by CopiaFacts. The FFMRGNT setup program selects the format and other options. FFMERGE is no longer supported for Windows 9x or ME.

If you specify a fax number on the FFMERGE action line, FFMERGE will produce both a fax-format image file (in the CALLBACK\TEMP temporary sub directory) and an FS file (in the CALLBACK\TOSEND) directory.

If you specify an e-mail address on the FFMERGE action line, FFMERGE will produce a fax-format image file (marked for conversion to PDF if the option is set in FFMRGNT, together with an FS file.

If you specify both a fax number and an e-mail address, separated by a semi-colon (;), then the first target destination will be tried first, followed by the second if the first fails.  Both sets of FS commands, for e-mail and fax, will be generated.

If you specify a filename with "fn=" on the FFMERGE action line instead of a fax number (as described in more detail below), then FFMERGE will create only a fax-format image file, not an FS file. In this case the fax-format file is placed in the directory named on the action line.

No file-extension should be supplied as this will be assigned automatically (usually as .TIF unless the deprecated .1 .2 .3 ... file convention is in use).
