Convert Gammalink-Naming-Convention Filenames

G2MPT [-v] file [file ... ]

The G2MPT program converts Gammalink TIFF/F single-page files to multiple-page file format. It handles TIFF file formats supported by the hardware used by CopiaFacts, and will process files of up to 99 pages.

The input filename is expected to be formed from the document number followed by a 'P' followed by a two-digit page number. If the document number has six digits the 'P' is omitted.

No leading zeros are used on input file names. Output filenames are formed from the document number with leading zeros up to eight bytes. All file extensions are '.TIF'. Output is only written in the current directory, which should normally not be the same as the directory of the input files.

The input filenames are specified on the command line. Wild-card filenames may be used. Files with a pagenumber component of other than one and named on the command-line are silently ignored. Provided that there are no gaps in the page sequence, filenames are incremented from page one and appended to the same output file as the first named page.

Note that the G2MPT program only handles a subset of TIFF/F features required for fax files to be used with CopiaFacts. Non-essential TIFF tags are not copied to the output file. The output from a split will be numbered to match the physical sequence of pages in the file, even if the TIFF page-number tags are numbered differently.

To see what files are being read and written, use the -v command line flag before the filename(s).
