Monitoring of Broadcast Jobs

JOBMON [-t] [OMAFILE]

The JOBMON program monitors job completion and initiates the specified job completion tasks. In addition, it can be used to display continuously updated information about active jobs. JOBMON must be left running whenever CopiaFacts job processing is taking place. If you stop JOBMON it will prevent end-of-job actions from being started. JOBMON should normally only be run on one machine, but if you accidentally run it multiple times the instances will interlock to prevent end-of-job tasks being run more than once. Use the JOBVIEW program to view overall job status without the end-of-job monitoring operations.

JOBMON interlinks with JOBADMIN if both programs are running. If you left-click a job in JOBMON then JOBADMIN will open the job. You can return to JOBMON using the button in the top left corner of the JOBADMIN display.

Use the -t command-line switch to make the JOBMON window stay on top of other applications.

An OMA file may be specified (without a full path) on the command line and will cause JOBMON to write this file in the base CopiaFacts folder at least at every timer interval. This file must be explicitly named on the OMACHECK command line to monitor the operation of JOBMON.

The date/time stamp in the display indicates the last time the job status changed. In the case of an active job, it shows the launch time; in the case of a completed job it shows the completion time. Active jobs are highlighted in Yellow. The program normally shows a bar display of the status of each job, with failures in red and successful transmissions in green. The thickness of the bar reflects the size of the job. The status display shows the actual counts as you move the mouse over the job items. There is an option to hide the bars and replace them in the column with the job totals.

You can also select whether the display should hide completed jobs, jobs which failed to start, or jobs which have not yet started. The control for hiding 'finished' jobs excludes those that finished in the preceding 48 hours, which are always shown. You can alter this exclusion period by right-clicking the checkbox.
