Using the Mozilla ActiveX Control

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The CopiaFacts Firefox/Mozilla conversion options use the Mozilla ActiveX Control. This implements Firefox 1.x rendering;  no ActiveX control is available for Firefox 2.x.

You can still use the Mozilla ActiveX Control if you have Firefox 2.x installed (or if you do not have Firefox installed at all). It is available from http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm and the direct link to the current installer is is http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl1712.exe.  Although these controls are effectively FireFox 1.x controls, they should be secure if you are just using them to render local files.

The Mozilla ActiveX Control renders some pages differently from Internet Explorer, and generally produces a better result with JPG documents. However you should experiment with different source files to find which rendering best suits your own documents.
