Specify E-Mail Binding Addresses for the node

$email_node_bindnames nodename bname[,bname,...]

This command specifies the local addresses of the network adapters to be used on the machine being used to transmit e-mail. This command should be used when a node has multiple NIC cards and you need to select different network adapters for different e-mail traffic.

When you use this command, an $email_node_localnames command should also be used.

The parameters on this command are used as follows:

nodename The name of the CopiaFacts node (e.g. M1). The use of * to specify all nodes is not valid on this command.
iname the comma-separated IP addresses associated with each NIC in the node, optionally enclosed in square brackets.

The CopiaFacts variable ADAPTER_INDEX is used to select which of the comma-separated addresses should be used for a particular transmission.  If this variable is not specified, the default value is 1 and the first address on this command will be used. If the entry is empty (two consecutive commas) or if the index value exceeds the number of addresses supplied, or if no command is supplied, a blank value will be used. This is unlikely to be effective in selecting the correct adapter.

This command can also be used to set a local bindname for an instance of the Copia SMTP Gateway. A CopiaFacts license which provides a gateway node name for each Gateway instance is required. The $email_node_localnames command and the ADAPTER_INDEX variable are not required for a Gateway node and are ignored by the Gateway if supplied. Instead the first supplied IP address on the command is always used for the primary gateway server at the node named, and the second for a separate secure server, if this has been specified in GWMANAGER.

For more information about how addresses are used for e-mail transmissions, see $email_localname.
