There are a variety of ways in which you can load files for viewing in FFVIEWER.
| File Association | If you set up an Explorer "association" to FFVIEWER for the file-extensions you are using (.1, .2, .TIF, etc.) then double-clicking on a file will automatically launch the FFVIEWER program for that file. The CopiaFacts install normally automatically enables associations for .TIF, .GCT, .GTT and .1. |
| Command-Line | The file to be loaded can be specified on the FFVIEWER command line. If you need to regularly view a particular volatile fax file, you can make a copy of the FFVIEWER icon and edit the command line in its properties. |
| Drag and Drop | You can drag and drop a file from Windows Explorer onto the FFVIEWER window, or onto the FFVIEWER icon. If you attempt to drop multiple TIF files, they will form a document which can then be saved as a single file. If you drop a GCT file or GTT file, or a file for conversion such as .PDF, .HTML, .PNG, .GIF, or .JPG, it should be the only file in the group; other dropped files will be silently ignored. You can then save as a TIF the file you have loaded if you need to convert it. |
| Open File Dialog | After starting FFVIEWER you can use the Open File dialog to browse for each file you want to view. |
| Infobox Dialog | After starting FFVIEWER you can use the Infobox dialog to select a document based on its Infobox number, using the $image_locn commands in your CopiaFacts user profile. |
| Mail Selection | After starting FFVIEWER you can use the mail selection dialog to select an incoming fax mail item. The dialog allows the specification of the active mail box or image directory and selection of a document based on filename, date, sender CSID (fax answerback) or fax NSF data. |
