CopiaFacts™ Reference Manual

The post-send process normally consists of one task, to notify the result of a fax or e-mail transmission attempt. For this reason, most of the standard script modules include the word 'notify' in the script filename.

Because there is not the same time pressure on the channel, simple notification tasks are initiated directly in the post-process script, using the channel which has sent a fax. A very short time is needed to write an e-mail FS file to notify the result, and even if it took longer, it would only delay the next outbound operation by a few seconds, without the risk element for inbound fax channels of losing an incoming call.

The standard post-send scripts comprise:

•ReportSend  - a simple script typically used to report a fax completion result to an FFCLIENT user.

•GW_NOTIFY and GW_Secure_Notify  - recommended for use in email-to-fax applications to report fax completion results back to the originator of the e-mail.

•NOTIFY_SMTP and NOTIFY_SECURE_SMTP  - earlier versions of the GW notification scripts used at some sites
