Specify local temporary folder
$local_temp *|\\machine|node path
This command is used to specify the path name of a local folder which is to be used for temporary files. CopiaFacts does not check this command to ensure that the path name you select is a local path on all machines, but the COPIAFACTS program will fail to start if the path is not local.
The parameters on this command are used as follows:
| * | Use * to indicate that the path name is to apply to all nodes and machines. This entry may be overridden by specific node or machine commands, provided that the overrides follow it in the configuration file. |
| node | The COPIAFACTS nodename of the node for which the path is to be used. Do not use a node parameter when multiple COPIAFACTS nodes are running on the same machine. |
| \\machine | The Windows machine name of the node for which the path is to be used. |
| path | The path name of a local folder, with a local drive letter. Variables are not expanded in this parameter. |
Note that the last matched command for the node will be the one that is used. If no matching command is found, the value of the GFAX environment variable will be used if defined, and the path name C:\FAXTEMP will be used otherwise. The folder will be created if it does not exist.
![]() | The use of the GFAX environment variable is now deprecated and in due course it will no longer be referenced. |
If the applicable specified folder does not exist or does not have write access, the path specified is ignored and the Windows temporary folder is used.
Examples:
$local_temp * C:\FAXTEMP
$local_temp \\SPECIAL D:\FAXTEMP
For systems running CopiaFacts version 8.2 or earlier on some nodes, condition this command as follows:
$if @FFVERSION > 830000
$local_temp * C:\FAXTEMP
$local_temp \\SPECIAL D:\FAXTEMP
$endif
