Set Locking Parameters for Network Use

$lock_tries retries [interval]

This command is used to override the default number of locking attempts on the transaction log file and other common files before writing to the file is considered to have failed.

The parameter on this command is used as follows:

retries the number of locking attempts (default 20). You may need to increase this number if you experience a number of locking errors on a busy network.
intervalthe interval between retries, in milliseconds (default 250ms, minimum 50ms).  Increasing this value may introduce processing delays; reducing it may also be counterproductive because many repeated attempts may delay the release of the file by the application which holds it open.

Locking errors on the log file will be displayed on the status screen as logging errors.

Default: 20 and 250

Example:

$lock_tries 30
