Display COM Port and Modem Information
CFUTIL SHOWCOMPORT [COMn]
This utility is used to display available COM Ports and modems installed on a Computer. It uses (and requires) CF9WMI.DLL to interrogate the Windows Management Information database.
The parameters on this command are used as follows:
| (none) | The program lists each available COM Port. If a Modem is detected on the port, its Description (Caption property) is displayed, and an AT command AT+FCLASS=? is sent to the modem to determine the supported fax classes, if any. Failure to respond to this will time out after 30 seconds. |
| COMn | The complete configuration of the Port is listed from the WMI database. No access is made to the port. |
For more information on selecting a Fax Class from the supported classes, see the Fax Modems topic and the $faxmodem command description.
