CopiaFacts™ Reference Manual

File Locations

CFGThe FAXFACTS.CFG file is in the FAXFACTS folder. Other file names may be used with extension CFG, but it is recommended that only a single file is used by all machine nodes which run CopiaFacts programs.
HWL The FAXCOUNT.HWL contains the license and hardware/port configuration for all nodes and must be in the FAXFACTS folder. When a license update is issued by Copia, a .CopiaKey file is used, and this should normally be placed in the same folder; but note that it will display the same HWL icon in Windows Explorer.
USRThe default location for user profile files remains the FAXFACTS folder, but this is no longer recommended: for all new installations the SERCONF program setting up the installation adds a $user_profiles command to set the FAXFACTS\USERPROF folder to contain USR files. This command can also be used to override the folder name for USR files, but the folder must be located on the COPIA share to be available to all applications.
MBXMailbox files are placed in the FAXFACTS\MAIL folder. Note that for fax-to-email operations which make use of the Standard Post-Receive Scripts, no separate MBX files are required: instead an $auto_receive command keyword of builtin suppresses their use. The $post_office command can be used to override the folder name for MBX files, but the folder must be located on the COPIA share to be available to all applications.
UJPUser/Job profile files are placed in the FAXFACTS\USERJOBS folder and sub-folders. The base folder name for UJP files can be overridden by a $user_jobs command, but the folder must be located on the COPIA share to be available to all applications. They appear in a hierarchy of folders as system.ujp, owner.ujp, jobtype.ujp, and the extension is also used for job instance files. These files are only used by users of the CopiaFacts Job Administration feature.
FSTTemplate files used to create FS transactions are used for several different purposes.
SMTP Gateway Template Files for each sender are normally kept in the FAXFACTS\GWTEMPLATES folders, in a folder which is named with the domain name of the authorized senders. These contain details of how incoming e-mails are to be processed.
SMTP Gateway Template Files for special recipient actions normally kept in the  FAXFACTS\RECIPIENTDOMAINS subfolders, in a folder which is named with the domain name of the authorized senders. These contain details of how incoming e-mails are to be processed when received to a mailbox name for special processing.
For more information about how these template files are used, see Gateway Templates. Note that when the Gateway is not running on the same machine as the COPIA share,  GWMANAGER allows these folders to be moved to a local drive on the Gateway Machine (and back to the FAXFACTS folder). This allows e-mail to be received and validated by the Gateway even if the network connection is interrupted.
FST files are also used by the broadcast manager FFBC to configure provide the settings for the FS files to be generated for a small-scale broadcast.  When Job Administration is used to manage broadcasts, similar data is obtained instead from the job instance UJP created for the broadcast.
FST files are installed in other places where CopiaFacts needs parameters to create FS files to initiate specific tasks.
