CopiaFacts™ Reference Manual

Instead of selecting a user profile and fax mailbox file to process each inbound fax call, CopiaFacts provides a DLL interface which is used at sites processing large volumes of inbound traffic.

The 'call control DLL' is called by the COPIAFACTS engine program immediately on notification of an incoming call, and passes the DNIS and ANI values as parameters to allow determination of whether and how to answer and process the call.  The DLL has access to the CopiaFacts variable space, and callback functions can be used to set variables which affect the handling of the call, if answered.  Variables set from the DLL can provide text for the fax CSID.

For call rejection, the ISDN reject code or the SIP status code can be specified by the DLL.

Copia can provide sample DLL source code which can be used by customers who are developing a DLL to access their own logic and database.

Because the DLL is called before an incoming call is answered, efficiency and speed of response is important.  COPIAFACTS is a Win32  application, and to provide the widest support and most direct interface the call control DLL API is based on Win32.  However Copia also provides a simple call control DLL which can directly call a customer-provided .Net class library, giving the .Net library access to all the features available to a call control DLL.
