Registry Keys

CopiaFacts programs generally store all their settings in registry keys under HKCU\Software\Copia, and then the program name.

In addition to the settings for window positions, option persistence, MRU values, and selected defaults, the following special registry settings are  made:

CFCP / ServicesService applications normally save settings in the HKLM registry.
CVSINGLECVSINGLE uses a small number of temporary registry keys to communicate with FFEXTERN.
EMSETUPUses the HKLM registry to save notification and trigger options for use by several other programs which send notifications.
FFEXTERNFFEXTERN uses a small number of temporary registry keys to communicate with CVSINGLE.
FFTRACETrace flags for use by other applications are saved in HKLM because FFTRACE is run elevated.  These flags are also used by service applications.
JOBMONThe OptionsScanIntervalMinutes value (default 1) can be manually edited.
OMACHECKOption and node settings are saved in the Registry.

COPIACONNECT.INI

The COPIAFACTS.INI file is kept in the Windows Common Application Data folder (CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA or FOLDERID_ProgramData).  It should only contain a single entry referencing the UNC path name of the Copia Application Data folder, for example:

[CopiaAppdataShare]

UNCname=\\FaxServer\COPIA

At sites where an Island installation has been done in a cloud server, the value may be a local drive path, even though the value

Do not edit this INI file.  Always use COPIAINSTALL9 if you need to set up a new Copia Application Data folder or move an existing folder, and always use COPIACONNECT to connect to that folder from other machines.

COPIAFACTS.INI

This INI file is normally kept in the Windows Common Application Data folder (CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA).  On some systems it may instead be kept in the Windows user's Application Data folder (CSIDL_APPDATA).  In either case it will be in a COPIA folder in the above-mentioned folder.  To locate the actual folder on your own machine, use control-click on the File menu in COPIAEDIT and then use the file / open sub-menu to open the file. The pathname will be displayed in the window header.

COPIAINSTALL9Writes values in a [CopiaFactsServer]section for use by legacy applications and Island configurations.
CVSINGLEUses the INI file to read OverrideDOCCheck and OverridePDFCheck in the [FXCVRT] section.  A value of 1 in the entry will suppress the check for a valid file format on reading each file type.
FFEXTERNUses the INI file for the FXFDL2FS, FXRF2FS, and FXHPDSS  special process.

Items shown as option settings above will be read from the COPIAFACTS.INI if the applicable key has not yet been created in the registry.  Thereafter, the INI file will not be used by the application.

FAXFACTS.INI

This INI file was retired in CopiaFacts version 7, but may still be accessed if COPIAFACTS.INI is not present.
